1999 XJ Sport
1999 XJ SportHi,
I am planning to check out a 1999 XJ Sport
Auto
4WD
4.0L
AC
Cruise
Tow hitch
Roof rack
Green
Grey interior
Clean carfax
Very clean and no dents or tears
221k miles
3" Pro Comp lift and 15" pro comp steel wheels with 31" All Terrains
GA/NC vehicle
$3999
The prices seems a little high, and so do the miles but cosmetically its once of the nicest I have seen. Anything in particular I should ask about or look at? This will just be a second/fun vehicle for me for an intro to offroading and driving around my farm.

My advice on these types of things is that if you’re happy with it, feel it’s fair (to you, not to us) and want it then buy it.
Edit: I can’t wait for these meth head turd pie XJ’s to go extinct.

I bought it! It has a few issues but I just drove it 30 miles home no problems!

that comment just hit home of my time living in Aus. They say it just like that all the time mate.
Also... I've been really surprised just how fast good rust free stock or mostly stock XJs are starting to shoot up in price. I love my completely rust free XJ...but if someone walked up and offered me stupid level money for it... I can't say I wouldn't take it. It would be a tough choice though because she's been pretty good to me... temperamental just like any old Jeep and needy of course...but to this day overall pretty darn reliable. Can't say that for many 21 year old vehicles still serving up DD duties.

I have been chipping away at the little issues: Fixed broken center console support and latch. Replaced radio with bluetooth/aux/usb receiver. Replaced broken turn signal switch. Next up, fixing the fog lights. That leaves the itty bitty oil leak for last
I may be parting after a quick fling with the XJ. I think I am more of a muscle car kinda guy. I spend more time on the highway than I would like. I am going to reach out to the dealership to see if they are interested in getting it back. Or I will just list it for sale outright. With the work I have done, I am hoping I can break even on it.
