1999 Grand Cherokee Radio
I have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Jxi. The radio in it is either bad or the power cable is bad, because I can rarely get it to come on and when I do, it doesn't stay on for long. So in another car, the 1999 Grand Cherokee, I was going to take that radio out and try putting it into the Chrysler to see if I could pin point whether it was the cables or the radio.
The problem is that I cannot get the radio out of the Jeep. There is this one cable that I cannot disconnect. Not sure what the cable is needed for; looks maybe like grounding, but I really wouldn't know.
It looks like one of the exact same cables in the Chrysler that comes off easily, but it won't in the Jeep.
I have attached a picture of it below. It is a black cable with a black clip at the end connected to a metal tab on the radio. Any help with the importance of the cable/what it is and maybe why I can't get it off would help. Thanks.
