1998 jeep Cherokee. Wanted 4grand, 140k miles. Pretty clean everywhere except a giant hold in the drivers side floor about 2 feet long. Told him I didn’t want it because of the hole. Did I goof?

I have a small hole in my drivers side floor pan (repairing this fall) on an relatively rust free vehicle. It rusted from the inside out, so I did not see it until my foot made its way through one day. Not sure exactly where mine came from, but the windsheild seal is probably the culprit. Will be hunting that down and fixing as well.
I pretty much kept mine in a garage most of its life, however, the first 3 years of living here in TN I didnt have space, so it sat in my drive, on an incline. Thats when I believe most of the damage took place.
Its your call, but its very possible that is the only spot that the jeep is rusting. And its 100% repairable.
I would also check the passenger side, and the rear frame where the bumpstops are, or used to be. Above the axle.
