Just to put the final nail in the coffin on this one. I found this in the OEM tech section. A user posted a pic of his original 160K water pump. This is what Chrysler put on at the factory. Note the impeller direction. Same as the replacement water pumps we gave OP.
These are all great leads but all the wrong pumps, look at the rotation, if this were to spin counter clockwise they would just slap the water not push the water through the system. see how the one on the right pushes water and the one on the left slaps the water
Sir, I hate to break it to you, but the water pump on the right hand side of the picture is for a 4.2 liter inline 6 found in YJs with a v-belt. If the pump that you pulled off your Jeep was like the one pictured on the right, then somewhere along the way, someone put the wrong one on.
