well all i can say from when i had mine is that there a pretty good truck, mine had the 5.9 in it and it quit at around 180k, and i got rid of it after that, also my drivers seat was terrible! i had to shove some coats and what not in there too see over the dash ha ha, but they are good trucks though!

Over all they are great trucks, the 5.2 is bullet proof, but the 5.9 has more power. They did have problems with fuel pumps failing, some transmission problems if they were abused, and the dash boards will fall apart after years of baking in the sun. They are a very solid truck and a good choice.

Alright ya i've heard of the trans problems. The one im lookin at is a 2000 dodge ram club cab 4x4 5.9 auto heated leather seats has 245k miles though. he's asking 3500 but said 2700 lowest he'd go i offered 2500. The Value on it is 5000 in good shape. so idk lol

They are notorious for heater core problems. Horrible gas mileage. Basically same front end suspension that jeeps have, and they are notorious for death wobble. Interior wise they are not the best thing created, but the 2000 would be pretty nice, atleast you would have the back half doors and the upgraded interior compared to the older ones.
I wouldn't worry to much about the mileage if it is in good shape and has been well kept. And it doesn't have a bunch of problems. They are HARD working trucks and can take a TON of abuse and keep going. I know alot of people that have them with over 200k miles, mine only had 118k and it had all the problems I listed above and it was to much for me to deal with.
Mine averaged 8mpg no matter how I drove it. I had a K&N filter with Flowmaster exhaust, I absolutely LOVE the exhaust note on the 5.9.
For the right price, they are good trucks.
