Default 1990 XJ rear driveshaft snapping yoke

Just bought a stock 90 XJ and it is snapping the bolts off of the yoke and dropping the rear drive shaft.

Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?

Check the condition of your gears in the rear diff. Something could be seizing up.

Check the u bolts on the axle, if they are loose it could be letting the axle pivot when you give it gas.

i just got it so i don't know when it is happening the guy i got it from bought it from his cousin and it did it to him. Then when the guy i got it from put a new yoke on it, he said he only drove it 5 miles and it did it to him too, so just trying to figure it out what it is so it doesn't happen to me.

My buddies xj was doing this. We put new clamps on the rear leaf springs and it fixed it. The rear was wrapping and causing the break. Tried many things before this, but that is what fixed it.
