1990 renix swap to 1994???
here is the deal I have a opportunity to swap everything from my 1990 to a 2wd 94 in excellent condition and it is a 2door like mine. My question is will everything bolt right up or is it going to be a pain in the *****?
the 94 is 2wd with the2.5 and no trans. I just wonder with the difference in age will the tc bolt up or am I looking at alot of fab work. My mechanic says he will do it for 1,500 bucks and the shell of my old jeep to scrap.
what would you do??

If it will cost $1500, by all means do it yourself if possible. I would think that mechanically everything would work (don't quote me on that, can't say for sure) but the ECU would not like the RENIX and probably give a constant check engine light.

I hope one is not your DD.
its a pita and it can be done.
Only non electric mods you need is motor mounts. (correct me if im wrong)
You can pay $1500 for a new jeep imo.

yeah thanks for the comments I decided not to do it. It is just too much work. The 94 is very nice an 8 out of 10 but still just too much hassle. and you are right i could just buy another renix for 1500.

You can get a rebuilt (remanufactured) engine for that amount of money and it will last another 10 years. Some Renix era parts are not compatable with your H.O. Jeeps system anyway.
