so would 17 inch wheels fit on a cherokee bc i was thinking about just picking up one of these sets that people post of the rubicon wheels so is there a way to get the 17's in the same bolt pattern or would this not work bc i havent found anything on it

if they are from any TJ they are 5x4.5 bolt pattern (exact same as cherokee)
if they are from a JK (wrangler 2007+) they are NOT the same. you will need a wheel adapter

17" wheels will fit. it's the tire size that will cause rubbing.

If they are on a TJ they will be the 16 inch moabs not the 17's. If they are JK take offs you'll need to trim your fenders if your not lifted.

17" Rubi wheels are off of JK's , They will fit if you get lug adapters, an if you do not have a lift plan on trimming to fit them .

I didnt know the size difference. just telling him which bolt patterns are which. JK's are 5x5.5 pattern iirc
smaller rims are better anyhow. I'd just go with the 16's for easy fit

yeah price out your tires first. i wanted 17s to intill i looked at how much the tires would cost. that scared me away haha

i have a 6.5 inch lift with 2 inch blocks in the back and have some ****ty 32's on now i was just wondering if there is any rims that are 5x4.5 blot pattern in 17's but priceing that out is the question i have also bc there is some cl adds that have these tires with about 80 % left for 500 but i can spend about 900 and have brand new tires that i like idk i am just weighing options now

17" tires are more expensive but if you compare an aired down 33"x15 to an aired down 33"x17 you will see a big difference. Im have jk moabs and I've shopped around for my next set of tires, for the price of new 17" tires I can get new 15" wheels and tires. Is the extra 1" or so of aired down ground clearance worth the extra $50-100? I think so but I wheel my Jeep and dont wanna make the jump to 35's just to have enough clearance. Shop around and learn to manipulate tire sizes, ie emetric/pmetric/lt/flt sizes. You can get a tire that is a metric size equivalent of a 33 (for example) for less money. All that really matters is load rating minimums. In my opinion anyway. Sorry for the novel...
And for jk rubi wheels you will need spacer/adapters because the offsets different.

What are you talking about with "aired down ground clearance?" Clearance between the ground and the wheel? Sorry, it is either worded oddly or I am reading it oddly...it seems like you are saying a 33 on 17" wheels vs 15" wheels will have different ground clearances at the diff. And that is crazy talk

i think he might be talking about ground clearance from the ground to the lip of the wheel. because the sidewall would be smaller on a 17 inch wheel than a 15 inch wheel

well if you put 17 inch rim behind a 15 inch rim the 17 is a little larger so what i think he is getting at is that if you air down and have a wider rim then you have a little more clearance but i dont see how that would have any effect on that at all unless you ride on your rim
