Anyone got a write up on how to install one in the back hatch? Searched and can't find one.

 

I did not follow a write up...
Had the carpet out fixing floor board rust issues. Before I assembled, ran a fused 12 gauge wire from the battery, entered the cab on the drivers side firewall, ran the wire along the drivers side door jams, then cut across rear seat (in the front below lower pad), ran over passenger wheel hump to storage cubby. There I installed an OEM lighter panel I picked up at the junk yard.

When running the power wire avoid sharp surfaces. If a spot looks questionable, then at the very least use tape or split tubing around the wire. The fuse is very important. Put it as close to the battery as you can.

The way I did it is the simple way. The outlet has power 100% of the time. If you want to have switched power, you need to use a relay. A little more involved, but it will not kill your battery in the event you leave something plugged in all night.
