>>>>>>>>>XJ Rocker Guard Build & Relocation<<<<<<<<<
thought of a better way to relocate my rocker guard instead of the way i had it before
here they are before i have done anything to them
now here im cutting the ends off there where a bit to long
here it is cut off
im grinding down the exes metal in the maim square tubing
you can see there was quite a bit
here it is grinned smooth
an idea of the way its going to be
hear are the end cut and redone

Looks great. I always appreciate attention to detail and this project looks like it was a lot of work to get the details right. I really like the angles underneath now, will make sliding off of rocks ect easier and the reinforcement flatbar looks pretty beef. Did you drill the holes purposely or were they already there? Just wondering because around here crud gets into everything. Also what kind of welder did you use? Welds look good, seems like it took a few passes to get sufficient heat on some of them, also a few of them look to be a little on top of the metal. Ive had similar problems with my buzz box before and im still working out the settings to get it just right.
Awesome project. Ill be doing something similar soon. I took my sliders off my ZJ and now i have to get them to fit on the XJ.
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing

when i had the metal they where like that already i was going to cover them up but haven't got to it yet.i definitely see where your going with that though. The welder is a Hobart 220 welder i love it it was worth every penny.
about the welds they are actually with only one pass exsept for the welds on the end tips of the rocker. but ya i definetly would recommend that welder to anybody doing a minimum of heavy/medium metal work, it works on exhaust pipes well but you just got to be careful with it or you'll burn through.
Thank you for your comment and ya if you ever have any questions please ask. Good luck on your projects.

Wow, at first I thought you were just gonna weld the slider on top of the support arms, and I was like.....ummm. But then I kept going down and it turned out great! Very well done, and nice welds too.

I like these man.. I'm not too good at welding, but maybe when I get some cash I might attempt a project like it. Nice job!

well with welding all you got to do is practices on some scrap and you'll get good no problem iv only have been welding for about 5 months give or take....the welder part is most definitely the more pricey part but it is definitely worth it in the long run. Thanks
