i am not a fan of box tube bumpers, but your fab work looks up to par!!

i like the diamond plate caps....nice work

jd2 bender is awsome!! i loved mine, but i sold it to build another rc crawler.

1/8 seems a little weak for a bumper IMHO.

Looks like a good start. I am interested in seeing the mounting points and d-ring tabs

How does anything heavier make sense? Bolting an indestructible bumper to a unibody chassis is insane in my opinion!

The impact energy has to go somewhere, I would rather the bumper absorb it than the chassis.

not a rock bumper this is going on a rig like mine driven 25 days a month wheeled 5 maybe on wooded trails......purpose built not over built i can keep my costs down by building bumpers that the costomer wants and will meet there needs not going with heavy wall steel that costs far more which raises my prices and is not at all needed in the application...

very close to what i want to do for mine, if i don't go with Detours Tail bone/Back bone system. I want matching front and rear a lot like this one but with D-ring and 2" receiver
can't wait to see it in finished form, liking it alot

People build ***** super heavy because they read on Internet forums that nothing under 1/4 is good enough.

I'm not saying that the 1/8" won't work, but I have 1/4" Warn bumpers (bought before I knew what I was doing) and have hit them super hard on rocks/trees/hillsides and personally wouldn't trust 1/8". Yes, some of my opinion is based off of reading what a lot of expert builder/fabricators say and recommend, but it is also based on personal experience.

The way I look at is that I would rather have a little extra wieght while not having to worry about having to rebuild/repair the bumper or more.

Again I'm not saying that it won't work or isn't good but I wouldn't trust it on my rig.

i find it interesting that u built it without mounts, most people including myself build mounts first then the bumper. what is your reasoning behind this?

The same goes for lifts. A lot think that you need massive lift to go offroad but it really depends on where you go and what you do.

i am good with a ruler..lol.. no..xjs are so damn easy to mount to it's not a big deal..the customer can't give me his jeep til some time this week so i am building it off of measuments, i have the mounts made and when i get it i'll just put the mounts on the rails, butt the bumper up where i want it, tack it, pull it off, and weld it up...most of the time i want the vehicle but xjs and wranglers are idiot proof for mounting..
