winch help
I need some spec off some one's winch please here's what I need to know. How wide it is or a suggestion on How far I should hold my bumper Out?? Next I need to know measurements of the hole on the winch so I can drill then. Thanks for ur help

not really a fab question but the bolt pattern on most is 10" x 4.5"
as far as actual winch size i think itll depend on which one you get they all differ alittle there is a chart on here some where if you search
one chart for winch ratings and another drawing of a few different winchs with sizes

the dimensions i have are for a smittybilt xrc8
Mounting Bolt Pattern: 10in x 4.5in (4 bolts, 3/8in) (254 mm x 114.3 mm)
Overall Dimension: (LxWxH): 21in x 6.22in x 7.283in (558.8 mm x 158 mm x 185 mm)

Mounting points- 10" x 4.5"
Approximate winch size- 21.5" x 6"
I'd have to take apart the brush guard on my bumper to get exact measurements for the winch itself, but the mounting hold are from the center of the bolts.

You can go to every winch manufacturer and they give exact dimensions and technical drawings for all their winches. I found that out when I was gonna start building winch bumpers.
