Default what "rigging up" have you done to your xj

Lets hear some of the stories that you all have about duct tape and bailing wire. I want to hear what some of the things that you all have done to save your but in a pinch or maybe just get by a little longer without having to hit the parts store. I’m not looking for home brew mods but if it took duct tape, bailing wire, zip ties, or stuff like that, lets hear it. If it happened on the trail and you cant believe that you got it back like that, lets hear it. maybe the use of a tree branch or rock that helped you along the way when otherwise you would be in dire need of a real car part.

example: I have duct tape patching a hole in my vacuum res bottle along with zip ties holding it in place. I also use two zip ties to hold my rear view mirror in the right place. Its not a big deal but you get an idea of what this is about.

pics or vids would be nice to go along with the story and it can be something simple or something real impressive and unbelievable.

I will post pics of my rigging jobs tomorrow when I can get pics of them

Twist ties (not even zipties, couldn't find any) hold my vacuum ball onto the pressure line for the AC compressor. Said vacuum ball is patched with epoxy and a piece of plastic where it got a hole in it.
Dryer duct routed from airbox to grill area, attached to airbox with duct tape. My ghetto air intake mod.

out on a wheelin trip i came off a rock ledge and smashed my gas tank so hard it put a dent in my floor in the cargo area and broke my fuel sending unit tubes so we had to drop the tank on the trail pull the sending unit out use red rtv to reatach and seal the tubes so it wasnt leaking gas all over the place re install it worked good enough to get me through the trail and back home which was another half a days trip

Funny as hell, but resourceful. I probably would have left it somewhere, prayed it doesn't get stolen, and ran to get another tire for it.

Not on my Jeep but on my old K5 I got to school one day and there was magically a hole in the upper radiator hose. Broke out the duct tape and used the gum I was chewing to patch 'er up and driver 'er home.

Well let's see...

I had a cracked heater control valve and I used a shop towel, a plastic bag, some duct tape, and two zip ties to keep it from leaking coolant so I could drive it from home to the school where I take auto shop so I could fix it.

And

One time I used double sided tape to hold my bumper ends on for about a week

Broke a motor mount half way through the trail. It was banging around so much I used a tent string to hold it down.
