Default Westin nerf bar install

I found these cheap on CL. I know as manufactured the design does more harm than good. I stitched in some 1 1/2" angle 3/16" wall on the lower back/bottom to tie into outriggers that will be attached to plates screwed to the frame with JCR's self tapping slider bolts. The Westin mounts will be welded to the tubes and attached with JCR's bolts as well.

The angle pieces are welded full length on all sides. I plan on bedlining everything and applying copious amounts of black RTV under the plastic tread pads to prevent the tubes from rusting inside. I know I'll lose clearance but my main goal is preventing rocker damage. I'm wondering if I should add another tube lengthwise to clamp onto the pinch seams and will this be suitable to jack up from the side with a Hi-lift?

All four corners have angle pieced in to better slide over obstacles and tie everything together.

Seems like you have the skill to make your own sliders? The work you did is good, good welds, good fab, but I feel like you could have made something much stronger. Did you say plastic mounts?

I was trapped in my shop for a couple hours with nothing else to do, so I started building these with with materials I had on hand I could fab up stronger sliders but I have time & budgetary constraints. I also need to make mount for a new winch, fab transfer case skid, install locker, etc before a fall trip to the mountains. I'm wondering if these will be "strong enough" with additional outriggers mounted to the frame. The plastic is the tread pad with westin logo, not a mount.
