The third pic is over the airbox facing forward. The light you see originally would have been shielded by the oem bumper.

Now im not saying the bumper change caused my motor to hydro lock, but it sure didn't help.

im willing to bet the water came in through the grill, that and the baffle is removed from your box.

Removing anything from between the front of the airbox and the ground/water, is going to make it easier for water to get in. Doesn't mean thats the reason of hydrolock though. I could remove a piece of tape from covering a bolt hole in the front bevel, will it let water in? Sure. Is it easier for water to get in than before? Yup. Is it a massive difference? Nope...

Hell, you could remove the entire front grill/clip plus the hood so the only thing left over there is the airbox. Same applies. Is it easier for water to get in? Yup. Would i take my rig puddle jumpin'/muddin' with no intake protection other than the stock airbox? Nope.

Moral of the story you ask? Don't be clogging my thread...

Have you tried that winch yet? I'm considering that one and am wondering what your opinion of it is?

Haven't rly tried it besides unwinding a little by hand and hooking to the d-ring. It'll get tested when the cradle is finished.

Tested the winch, cradle, and receiver i built into the bumper, everything works great. Haven't had the chance to test on vehicle recovery yet but did drag my buddies big polaris. Unwound the cable until about 5-7 wraps were left then hooked his 4wheeler up, locked the brakes, put it in gear and shut it off. Then i rewound the entire cable with the weight of his 4wheeler on the line. Performed flawlessly. Hi-idle is awesome too btw.

Got the factory ext idle switch and the high idle mod. Revs to 1000rpm's. Makes for easy winching. Plus with all my strobes for the FD, i can leave it in high idle with the AC running along with my strobes and it runs great. One of the best mods i've done.

I am a fan of the stubby bumpers, they're simple and effective.
