Exclamation steel prices?

I need some help with some approximate prices on steel. First does anyone know how much it is for a 4' x 8' peace of sheet metal? Also does anyone know the price of a 10' peace of 2" x 4" square tubing? Any info will help

It depends on the thickness of the metal you want and what grade of steel. The stronger the steel the higher the price. The lower the price the more easily it will bend. As GIjoe already stated, the market for steel changes everyday depending on supply and demand and can only be quoted through a supplier that sells it at an increased mark up daily. You can also check your local recycling and scrap yards to see if they resell scrap steel. There is one near me that will place good reusable pieces back on the yard for the general public to pick through. The buy scrap at .08 per pound, resell the junk to the recycler at .12 per pound, or resell the reusable stuff at .15 per pound. I picked up enough to make front and rear bumpers for both my Jeeps for under $100.

I priced a piece of 20' 2"x4" at $68 plus tax and a 4'x8' sheet of .1875(3/16) at $101. They add a cut fee of $2 for the 2"x4" to be cut in half.
These prices are for the MS Gulf Coast.

Steel is a totally local thing. Prices can and do vary greatly. Best thing to do is order full sticks, then have them cut it to your size. Way cheaper then trying to buy a half stick.
