Default started my rear bumper today.

just a few pics to show you step one of my fitting/fabbing process. still have to add the pieces under the lights, the diamond plate to go up to the hatch, and the mounts.

looks pretty good so far, what are you gonna use to fill in the gap between the hatch and the bumper? if you plan on doin some offroading with it it looks like that lower part that fits around the hitch is gonna snag on pretty much everything unless you lift it to prolly around 4 and even then it'll prolly hang up on high angle approaches and departures so i would be weary of that but im really interested to see where the bumper goes as far as design

diamond plate straight up covering the upper part of the bumper. and ill see when i get everything set. i was thinking of bending it right after the hitch and making it like a skid plate effect

I've actually never seen one like that, and I really want to see what it turns out like. And it would be cool if you could tie a gas tank skid into it, since it already hangs down low enough.

I think it looks awesome, but just needs to be tucked up like 3-4 inches. Love the design though

Looks good. I would bend it below the hitch some more and Im liking the idea of tieing it in to the gas tank skid

I don't think that it is off to a good start with it hanging that low but "it is not about how you start, but how you finish."

That bumper is way too low. Your departure angle is really gonna be terrible.

Nice start. At least you're attempting it unlike alot of us. The only thing I can see in this stage of the build is make sure you can still get to your reciever pin on your hitch. I am interested as to how and where you go with this build.

I can't fab or weld so it's better than anything I can do, but I agree bending it higher up would help your departure angle. With it the way it is you will def get hung up and dig in. Maybe you can incorporate a gas tank skid into the design since your like half way there already, that would be sweet.
