Default shock mounts

i made these shock mounts today out of the stock ones and just raised them level with the axle

After doing this mod, I'm guessing you could still use oem length shocks with 3-4 inches of lift??? Seems logical...

If anything it drops the eye of the shock a quarter inch. I wouldn't think there would be a noticeable difference

If they are raised to the center of the axle and mounted in the same location on the axle as original, you can run 3" shorter shocks.

I did a very similar mod. I use 2" lift shocks with 5" of lift.

that works too but i like how mine are above the axle for maximum clearnace

Agreed!
When I replaced my Axle housing I used Zone Off Road mounts.
