1/8in flat steel and cut it out with a torch and pop rivets

it purdy easy too and way cheaper to do it yourself than to spend 200 and buy them.

that would look good. Wont be as strong as steel but will help. I say GO for it!

Did you have to form it to the body any? Looks like there is a gap at the bottom edge.

I think it would look 100 times better if you formed it to the body. That gap makes it look unfinished to me.
