people do post in the wrong section alot and it probably isnt going to change because you have people who spend time on here tring to learn something new that like order to the site so things are easier to pick out then you have those just passing by who dont bother reading the rule or section titles for that matter

regular members need to start taking the time to report the thread if its in the wrong section
reporting it sends the mods a message so they know there attention is needed there the mods should not have to spend all there time tracking down post there gonna take care of what they see and some will get over looked no matter how many mods there are
so if you see something posted wrong report it and the mods will promply take care of it and may even say thanks for the help

Trust me I know all about reporting threads, that is NOT the solution to the problem. Educating people about how/where to properly post a thread will be far more helpful than reporting threads could ever hope to be. In the past week I've reported at LEAST a dozen posts that were either improperly posted threads or posts that violated the rules of the forum. All of them were the results of what? Members who didn't know the rules.

i agree 100%
but only the people who want to be here and want to be able to find things quick and easy will listen
plenty of the post the member never makes it past 5 post and never seen again they dont care what section there posting in

and honestly i think the "what kinda welder" post should all just be merged i swear that gets posted twice a week atleast
but again that wont change either because people join and want to get a answer and dont take the time to search
they dont care that its a community of people helping each other and sharing info and that theres some order to it

but just my 2 cents

Its not just that, its also "what lift kit should I get, is this a good idea, why does my Jeep do this?, what size tires can I fit?" And any other number of questions that are asked so often is not even funny.

yeah honestly i dont read much in the tech or chat section basicly just fab and builds
normally ill do a quick scan to see if theres an interesting new title then go to my subscriptions
when i had a bit more time i was checking almost every post and did alot of reporting but with time constants its like my build limited to what i can fit in

You know I've been trying to figure out what to do with all those duplicate threads.
Maybe I'll asks the admins first...
But if they say leave it then I'll have to leave it.

I haven't read Tech in ages, the main reason being that its the same nonsense asked over and over and over and over. I eventually got sick of spitting out the same answers repeatedly.

I still vote for flaming them

Seems to work pretty well on Pirate

Somebody just needs to give the mods a giant delete button. Make threads go *poof*

they have one but it still takes time to go through and do it unless you have admin powers and can clear the entire section with one click and start fresh lol

It probably would work

I seen people leave Cf because they felt it's over moderated.
And saw people leave Pirate because they can't handle it there.

I usually let the flaming ride on certain threads like that guy that wanted to hook a blower motor up to the intake for more power

I actually enjoyed reading the whole thing after 2 days and getting a good laugh.

I agree with Zach - education is what will lead to change. I've reported so many threads it's insane. As well as giving the same answer over and over again - especially for lift/tire and injector questions.
