my 15 minute booty fab super special cargo area tire hold down setup
got tired of it bouncing around, also created a safe place to hold other things
was able to put a bottle jack and jack handle and wood block under the tire, and wedge a jack stand between the tire, back seat and fender well, it ain't going no were
for the part on the floor I just welded a piece of 1/4 plate to the floor (to spread the load out a bit), drilled a hole and welded a nut on top of the hole
nothing a guy can't do with a little scrap steal a a cheapo welder

yep 19mm, I might buy one that screws in with a 't' handle, but this works great and it lets me put off building a tire carrier, I figure toal cost is about 25 cents worth of electricity and 50 cents worth of flux core booty fab special wire

How about making it work just like the factory holder. All you need is a 'eye' bolt in the floor and long J-hook like the OEM hook and plastic 'wing nut'.

thats how i did it, I put mine on the roof rack, but i used the factory t-nut and plastic half sphere thing and some fresh 3/8 threaded rod. Secured with a nut and lock nut on both sides of the rack. I had the threaded rod so I got <$1 into my setup as well. I would like it lower though to help out with the COG.
