Thumbs up Cheap Easy Nice Diamond Plate ROCKER FIX

My easy rocker fix

i think there this Dee Zee Part # DZ2143

I can get the set for like 80 bucks. Just put them up to your rockers mark them and cut. cut one cut at a time. you will have to trim down the upper lip to to make it fit under the doors. Grinder with a cut off wheel is what i used to make them. Remove all the rust and surface cancer from the rockers. then paint it with rust stopping paint. i used tractor supply tractor paint. Then use good selftapping screws to put in place

I was going to keep it for myself but we are all family here

The ugly

Cut out the rust to stop it or just slow it down.

But it is painted with rust stopping paint on both sides

that looks pretty good!

I had thought of doing something similar to that in the past....you should take some pics of the screws that are holding it on! Im just curious how noticeable they are

Very nice, I would use rivets, they blend a little better.

rivits wont work well due to you need the screws to pull the sheet metal to the diamond plate

Do you guys realize that the rockers on XJ's are structural, and should be returned to load carrying conditions when being repaired?

structure!!! yeah do you realize that everything on the xj is. so are the fender flares. But the main structure of the jeep is the uni-body rails the floors and the side cab rails. the out skin is just sheet metal and it is not worth fixing it if you are going to smash it off a rock or stump. it just a nice fix for little money

Put a set of stiffen rails on your jeep

pretty sweet! exactly what mine will look like. same color and everything. also the structure is in the unibody. you can cut the whole back off of one and it is held by the bottom
