Wat can I do to prevent mud from going into the engine compartment or atleast cut down on it iv looked for skid plates but found nothing for the engine

Combine that ^^ with a front skid and i think you will be good to go

That stock rubber mat hardly does anything. I thought I'd be alright with that going wheeling. I was wrong my engine was covered in mud and my Alternator died.

My truck doesent evan have the rubber mat lol it being a used truck an all who knows wat else might be missing

Go to your local junkyard and pull a front skid off a xj. That should help a bit. and its like 5 bucks!
