Default making shackles

hello,
i plan on making front coil spacers for my 87 xj and i was wondering if i could also make the rear shackles. ive got almost 5 years as a machinist now so i know i can make the spacers and the shackles dont seem to be too complicated but i cant find anyone thats made their own before. if you have and could share any insights with me it would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean youve made extensions? like just pieces of flat stock on the outside of the shackles? i thought about that but i didnt think it would be strong enough, it seems like the would fold the stamped steel stock shackles. although if you braced it inbetween it would probably be strong enough...

pretty much you cut em in half and ad your own steel back on and then brace em, i would say now after bout 7 years of fabing things up it wasnt the safest thing ever but it worked. like i said i did that when i was in high school and just started to fab things up...
