I'm sure you could push it 3 inches if you really wanted to. Comes down to what you're comfortable with and what resources you have to do the work.

It will get really complicated going past 1.5", full hydro steering or find a Chevy Astro van steering box to run the steering on the back side of the knuckles, but considering control arms, driveshafts etc usually occupy the back side of the axle it gets complicated really fast.

Tha is how far I can go without my drag link hitting my tie rod. I have a high steer on now. It will still be a stock box with hydro assist.

yeah thats what im wonderin... Kevinsoffroad.com sells a crossmember by itself with the skids and all... but its got nothing for CA mounts... and doesnt look like its beef enough for CA's... but thats the only one i could find already done... i got a BA10now... and want to swap in a AX15 one day... but they will take different crossmemeber specs so now i gotta swap the tranny before i do a lift... never ends... was thinking of just doing brackets just before the crossmember so i dont have to worry about swapping trannies first... lots of folks have them like this... just dont know if there better or worse then being on the crossmember... deff easier...

Do your math again before you dig into deeper questions.

.250 is the thickness of one side of the wall but not the other... total across the tube would be .5... so 1.5ID

Hmm, with a couple of parabolic leaf springs.... would be much easier to push it 3 inches... just a thought..

the part numbers for the bushings from polyperformance.com i couldnt find them, if i make my lca's do i use stock bushings? or are there other bushings that i should use. i have made plenty of lca's before, and never used oem bushings. i have always used after market bushings.

It just depends on what kind of abuse and what you are going to be satisfied with for an end product. Rubber OEM type of bushings reduce noise and work well. You can get the metal rings to accept them from 4wd or Quadratec or JKS or Rsuty's. Take your pick. You can also put poly bushings in them, but they will transfer more road and gear noise to the unibody. Most use a Johnny Joint on the other for rotation.
