I know the control arms are meesed up in those pictures but was the uniboy bent? was the bracket ripped off?
I know it sucks but spares are like $10 at local junk yard and can be put in on trail. Gun be kinda hard to weld on a new control arm bracket on the trail. I am a big fan of stock control arms if you in the highth range to run them (im not). I also recomend beefing the control arm brackets if you beef your control arms. and i recomend unibody stiffners if you beef the brackets.
Prety much my point is is that the control arms are the engineered weak point in the suspention. When you beef the weak point you run the risk ofbreaking something that is harder to fix
Just to be a hypocrite (cant spell) mine are made from 2in .25 wall chromo with rubber joints

I have yet to even drive my cherokee. It was wrecked when I got it. Previous owner hit something and broke the front axle in half. Ane BENT the hell out of the lower arms. No unibody damage though. I have since ordered a new/used front axle that is coming with arms. I was just wondering if I should go ahead and extend the arms since this thing has 3" lift springs with 3" spacers on top of them. So as far as mine riding like crap with the stock arms, I dont know. But while I got them off I am thinking about extending them for now, and maybe getting some aftermarket ones when the cash is there to get them.

i have beefy arms , and bent and twisted my mounts on the axle , even ripped the one side completly off , but for 40 bucks you can buy big heavy duty mounts , its well worth it , then to bend one in half and be stuck on a trail , what would you do if you truck was miles back in the woods and was unmovable ? its one thing if you break down and a buddy can tow u out , but if you rip your axle off your control arms your straight screwed

using stock control arms is just plain stupid on anything above 3in... theres used non-adjustable control arms on craigslist all day long... ya the stock ones are cheap... and you can change them on the trail (given you dont have to drive home on pavement) but with aftermarket control arms you wont bend them NEARLY as easily... so you dont have to even worry about it... stupid...

fwiw, i ran lengthened and BRACED factory uppers with 6.5" coils for the better part of 3 years with wheeling too. never once had a problem. the key is bracing them.

my buddy has zero lift on his tj , but he climbs thru everything , he twisted his stock ones bad and ripped one in half , he had another set of stock ones he braced and still twisted the hell out of them

how bout the saftey concerns of this, no one has mentioned that yet, im thinking that it will be much more safe to get some drop brackets and control arms, ironmanandy should chime in on this one but he makes some and from what ive seen and heard they are great, i dont own any so cant speak from experience but when i do go high enough to warrant buying arms im goin with him

I have a 6.5 RC lift with worn out 33's. Mine measures 24" in the center, but I also have 4 34" Super swampers w/ stock steel rims laying in the back.

If you have the fabrication skill required to "lengthen" stock control-arms, why not just make your own adjustable control-arms? That's what I would do. You'll be much better off, especially if you ever plan on going bigger.
