i just started this afternoon with extra material i have, its gonna mount on a swing out with an ammo can, i did not want it to just me a square box so i felt like getting creative, the sides will have arches and a tie down point from front to back,
here are some photos more to come

using a 140hd with 75/25 gas ,
also i am not making a tire rack for it cause my tire is gonna go on my roof rack once i finish it and weld some expanded metal on it

 

got some more done today, need to get a hinge to make the swing out, imma mount these 2 on 1x2

Why are you mounting the small ammo can on it?

 

There is another xj a few blocks away from me he has a tire/jerry/ammo setup it looks nice,
Perfect for recovery strap gloves and fuel spout

 

Nice work boss. im really liking the finished product. if u dont mind, id like to make one exactly like it....im curious though, how are u going to tie the ammo box in to the frame? to keep it in place?

 

It is really snug im thinking a couple spot welds i can remove, i could bolt it but want to keep it waterproof

Thx , imma build side light mounts for it, and put an expanded metal floor on it, i also made it large enough to sleep on , my backpacking tent even fits on the roof
