Default Jcr bumper welding options

So ive ordered my JCR DIY rear bumper.

My question is would Mig welding be strong enough? especially concidering i will tow using the hitch. (and pulling people out from a hitch mounted winch)

I can have access to a TIG welder but not right away so it would be a little bit of a wait. Mig i can do anytime.

What are your thoughts guys

There's no reason to tig it. What kind of mig machine do you have?

All of my bumpers are mig welded. A few of them have rec. hitch mounts. I have never had any failures on any of my bumpers to date.

Mig is fine as long as your machine is up to the task.

Tig would work great as long as your pop knows what he doing. A 110 gas mig is fine with the 3/16" steel Jcr gives you though.

Yes! Also one of those things that you have to know what you're doing. As long as you have a decent rod and have the machine set right, you'll be fine. Just make sure that if you stop in the process of a bead, clean up the slag and re-weld about a half an inch over where you stopped. Have fun!

Any machine willl work it all depends on if you can get proper penetration thats the key to welding anything a mig will do its all about penetration
