So I have these things laying around from another project and for the hell of it I just placed them on the hood to see how they'd look.... now I'm thinking... maybe?
I think if I did it I'd paint them black, but I can also do body color which would be cool or leave them natural since they're aluminum ( although they'd kind of stick out since everything else on my jeep is black)
I'd have to see where they could go without interfering with anything and I'd want to cut the holes so they're functional.
Sorry for crappy pics. Thoughts? Go for it?! Toss em.....?

i've always liked the look. and yours are very low profile i think they'd look great. i have a spare hood that i want to cut up to make some thing like that. can i ask where you got the vents from? i'm thinking of going to home depot to see what they have to offer

I got them from here: http://www.genright.com/
I like the ones I got because they have holes around the perimeter and come with stainless pop rivets, but you can also get the weld in ones. I kind of like the look of the rivets, gives it kind of a military look. You can barely see it in the pics, but the truck sitting next to my jeep is a 64' F100 that I'm throwing a bit of an aircraft/military theme on, so I originally bought them for that. I have another set as well I was going to use in another spot, but that's when money wasn't so tight because they're kinda spendy.
I also thought about home depot, there are some simple a/c vents that I think would work well. Also, the wife has a baking sheet that has louvers, but I think she'd notice if it went missing...
I really like the way these look (see pic below) which makes me want to paint to match my jeep. I have some touch-up spray paint thats a spot on match. I just did some repair work this weekend and it came out great, so I may go that route. Thanks for the reinforcment, I may just wake up tomorrow morning and cut some holes in my hood!

I've been on this forum for a decent time now, and I can tell you that the OVERWHELMING response is going to be put them in. You will have one or two who say "no, don't cut up your hood", but I am not one of them. I also vote PUT THEM IN! I like the match the paint job idea, and I will also add in that you will want to put in drip pans, even if you don't need them, eventually it will eat at your sensors.

Unless he's driving backwards, rear is higher than the front, or it's just blowing and raining hard from the rear of the jeep he doesn't need drip pans. Take a second look at them. They're not just straight holes.

I'm diggin the pics, they all look good, yet different which is cool. yeah, thinking I'll forgo the drip pans. there aren't many louvers in the panels, they're small, the openings are at the back, and I live in Vegas... can always add something later if the need arises.
