You think putting the shackle in the holes closer to the front of the jeep resulting in a 20-30* shackle angle would lower it?
I'm not trying to gain lift, and I would bumpstop before the leafspring bottoms out on the body.
I'm just thinking I can get more droop at a 20-30* shackle angle without gaining lift

In my case, moving the shackle forward caused the shackle to hit the mount when the springs flattened out so that is why mine are where they are. I cannot say what it would do with your configuration sorry.

I believe the hole was 1 5/8" from the end and from the bottom. I used a 5/8" drill bit to give myself some extra room in case it was off a tad. The bumper brackets need to come off to install the mount but can be reinstalled afterwards. The bolts interfere with installation.

Nice. Did the 3x3 box fit into the original shackle box without modification? I didn't think that XJ shackles were 3 inches wide... therefore I would have thought that 3x3 tube would be too wide to fit in the stock shackle box?

Fits like a glove. Just had to tap it in with a hammer, and literally tap not like I had to wail on it or anything.
