Meh, welding takes practice, the more time you spend behind the hood with your machine, the better you will get. I run a similar welder. I have a Lincoln 175 HD. I run .035" wire. I generally weld with it at the middle setting for mat'l up to .140" thick with the wire speed at around 4-4.5. move your torch in circle or stich back and forth and watch your weld puddle. Should sound like bacon sizzling. For Thicker material that has been prepped properly I use the next setting up with a slightly higher wire feed.....around 5-5.5, with the same technique. Sometimes....although rarely do I use the highest setting on my welder.......usually only if I am welding anything over 3/8". Build looks good, hope this helps and have fun and be safe.....also buy a nice hood.......you will love yourself for it......and so will your eyes
A couple of my welds with my machine
sorry to hijack..............just trying to be helpful

Hope you stay safe out there. For your sake and others I hope your welds are strong enough to be beat on for the long haul I would hate for any one to get hurt. But I guess that would just be Darwinism in this case.

It's alright I just wouldn't want anyone to get hurt and I always look out for fellow trail riders. I will be watching this until you finish can't wait to see the finished product.

Awesome work dont let anybody tell you what can and cant be strong enough the welds look fine this isnt pirate 4x4 where every weld is a master peice as long as you penetrate the metals your fine looking back i wish i built my own long arm but that was before i trusted my welds now im saving to start a rear 4 link great job

slow your wire speed a bit, or move your torch in a sticting pattern or small circles, then it won't look like it is building up so much, and will look more even or consistant, as far as stregth of the welds goes, I can not see anything that really jumps out as unsafe, looks like most of the joints are welded on both sides and you have decent penetration. I don't see any porosity either so you have your gas flow set high enough as well. I usually run my gas around 7-10 CFH. if I am in the garage. Also, when you first fire your welder up and turn the gas, take a scrap piece of metal and burn on that for about 5-10 sec. This will purge the gas valve/line and you won't have porosity on your first tacks, or welds. The little welders would really benefit from a gas purge, but what do you do..........

Lookin good man much better. Good penetration, heat was right, and on the bench it is much easier to do good work. I look forward to the following your progress.

I agree totally with jeepnxj96. You could also try the weaving method If the circle method is to uncomfortable or something. Welds look really good man keep up the good work.

Welds look a little cold to me. Try turning it up a notch and like someone else said slow down your wire speed. Other than that looks good!!
