Default Homemade front bumper. Spent $45

I started with several pieces of 1/4 steel plate I got for free from a local shop. My only expenses where paint, grinding disc, bolts, and welding wire.

Started by making templates from cardboard then made these mounts

Went through a lot of cardboard but finally got it like I wanted

Very nice. Are you putting lights in the bumper openings?

That was the plan. Should have found the lights first and built the opening around them. It was a after thought and I am having a hard time finding lights to fit.

Get some led's and just use clear plexiglas to fill the gap

Did you know someone at that shop, or did you just ask for scrap sheets? I wouldn't mind making my own like this. Really like the holes. And not much out there for ZJs. Is this bumper strong enough for a winch??

My friends brother works at the shop. But it want hurt to ask a shop if you can go dumpster diving. All they can do is say no.
The bumper is definitely strong enough for a winch. %95 percent of it is 1/4 plate.
I am waiting for a good deal on a winch!
