Ok here is what i did i painted my rims myself all the trim on the bottom and i smoked out my front lights myself also. And wired my fog lights to come on with the marker lights

i removed my headliner, pulled everything off it, scraped all the "foam" off, and spray painted it grey'primer'.

I wish i could have done that with mine. Only 97+'s can get away with that lol

Removing headliner you can do on any year.... I did it with mine. What he was talking about was removing the material and glue from the plastic headliner. Our year have those crappy fiberglass/cardboard headliners.

With the headliner removed does the interior get really hot when the truck is left out in the sun?

It gets warmer than it does with the headliner. The headliner acts as thermal aswellas noise insulation. It also makes it colder in the winter.

i took the headliner out of a newer jeep scraped off all the foam and bedlined it

the headliners in newer XJs are plastic? wow...did not know that. Might have to grab one of those instead of rehabbing my current one.
