that frame side tb mount looks better in person

that being said I did have my buddy's dad check it out, he has been a welder/fabricator for over 35 years, he says they are fine, and more importantly, safe...
but he also made a few recommendations:

-stop using FLUX CORE... it is ugly and in the end it is expensive... however it is just as strong as gas, BUT it tends to splatter

-add a support bar that runs from the frame side TB mount to the other side of the frame

-add more gussets... no reason not too, as long as they clear every thing

-he also says I should try running just a hair more wire speed... not much but just a little more
If you use gas with flux core you can make welds look just as good as with hard wire you just have to do short whip motion forward and back as you run your bead

I like that way better. Great for the bigger rods. Out of site too.

I just cut the rear bracket to fit where the headliner fits, so no screws, but the front one is screwed on....I can put 6 poles up there...there is usually three of us in the rig

oops...after looking at my picture I realized that I did screw the rear bracket on, as it was to close to the headliner tucked into the rail.
