Default hitch tire carrier

ok so heres the build of my 20$ tire carrier
i started with an old reciver hitch and an old truck rack and went from there

i started by cutting a 6 foot of 1.25 inch tubing in half these would bcemoe the swing the hinge was 2 pieces of pipe that fit inside of eachother perfectly i notched the end with an angle grinder

welder safty is very important to me haha

this is how it goes together and i was rather pleaseed with itso far

this is my upright being held on by a clamp

this is my creative way of conecting the tire to the swring its the wheel off my dads old masda that i put a few wheel studs from auto zone

this is the nearly finished project just need paint and some and bolts

finished it this is at the gun range

Cornrush, that actually a DAM good idea you have, especially since it doesn't require welding something on to the body of the XJ - I love the way it can actually be taken off (by removing receiver hitch) so there's no permanent altercation to the body or frame..

WA TO GO!

Just a tip my grandpa has taught me. Is be careful with sparks around your gas tank... Small leak or dripping from a line and you and your jeep are gonna be gone... Other then that security measure, very nice and creative work i like it!

that looks great, might be the solution I have been looking for to get the spare tire out of the back.

I think I might try to make this my first welding project
