has anyonemade a set...
of hood pins if so what were the parts you used and how good did they work. i want to get ride of the latch to pop my hood, because i have to get out of the truck grab the handle with both hands and put all my strength into it just to pop the hood

You could buy a set at most auto parts stores. Get rid of your cable but keep the latch that you reach under the hood and open (the one that looks like a hook) and keep the springs so when you undo the pins the hood will pop up a little.

i know to keep the latch i cant find them at any auto stores around me and i really dont want to order them

I made mine just cause I could and I'm a cheapskate. .5 diameter SS rod threaded with 5/16 on one end and chamfered on the end that sticks out. Stock hood springs held down with notched SS fender washers in stock location. Hood gussets are same SS fender washer with Aluminum pop rivets. Everything is SS or Aluminum except for the Hairpin. Keep the hood "SAFETY LATCH" just in case you forget to put the pins in. More pictures in my album. You can find a good SS set for around $40.
