dang it turned out great!! Looks good with the stuff mounted and painted. Also you are right about the square corners

and ya a lil more than what is needed, but wanted no open spaces and plenty of places to tie down to. and i had the metal shop cut all my pieces to size.

 

and ya that was my first choice, but i built the rack for less than the cost of 6 of those gutter mounts and they dont sit high enough so, im makin my own. im just gonna use some 2" flat bar and bend it at roughly 30 degrees and gusset the backside, then use some channel to sandwich em to the drip rails.

gotta get some lights runnin on her too, how much you think it weighs? you got alot of extra supports in there, ive built two rack outa 1 1/2" conduit pipe, its a lighter then normal pipe and for this application its plenty strong enough, but same thing happened to me, i got bored, had some pipe layin around...so i welded up a roof rack
