got bored, so made a roof rack

Default got bored, so made a roof rack

so got bored yesterday so i made a roof rack out of some scrap 1" tube i had. it measures 57" long x 47" wide x 5 1/2" tall. used 1/2" carrier bolts to hold my highlift, and a 8" carrier bolt for my spare....now just gotta figure out a way to mount it. took me about 8 hrs start to finish....hope everyone likes it. i think it turned out well...

Use u-clamps to hold it down to the stock roof rack bars, if you've got them.

ya i got em but want a more sturdy setup....looking at making some gutter mounts...

well i decided to mount it to the stock roof bars until i have time to make some gutter mounts, need it for a camping trip this weekend. i just drilled some 7/16 holes through the rack and bars and used grade 8 hardware and some lock washers and bolted the ***** down

Nice job, looks good. Gutter mounts are good, and the ones listed above look sturdier than the ones on my Olympic Top hat rack.

My rack is still in pieces in the back of my jeep till I get a chop saw to make square cuts.....
