Hey guys. Lookin at building a gas tank skid for another member on here. Were planning it off of this website

Just wanted to get any advice or tips before i start this project.

Going to be going with 1/8 diamond plate with reiforcement strips along the bottom.

I would not use dimond plate because its not smooth and I would think it would make sliding off of something harder.
Just my 2 cents.

X2 on the diamond plate plus it cost more than mild steel plate.

I have thought about that option as well. Just go with a factory skid for an XJ or can you use something else?

What points on a Stock skid would be best to beef up? I just pulled a JY one and would like to brace it up before I put it on.

I don't think you really need to beef up one of the stock skids. They're pretty strong straight off the line, so long as they're not already bunged up.

Maybe have it powdercoated?
