Default Garden Edging Flares My Way

Just thought I would share the way did my Garden Edging Flares.

I used Royal Diamond Garden Edging I got from Home Depot for 15 bucks for 20 feet, enough for 4 flares on the XJ. I also used 4, 3/4" X 1/16" X 4ft aluminum strips, One for each fender.

First I cut the the fenders at the body line indicated by the arrows in the pic.

The edging has a hook on one edge that I cut off the length of the flare

I then used the hook end to cover the edge of the fender, sandwiched it with the rest of the edging, and the aluminum strap, and clamped them to the fender with visegrips where I wanted them. diagram is to show how I did it.

Then I riveted all to the fender and trimmed the edging on the ends. I used a heatgun to shape round part of the edging to the shape of the fender opening. If the plastic gets too hot it will get glossy and too deformed.
