I've got a 1990 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer 4 door. I've already replaced the front buckets with seats from a GMC Jimmy (don't ask why, for a teenage boy with low income and a dad paying for em, it works, all I did is make custom brackets to bolt to the seats). But my back bench seat is busted, but usable. My friend has a dodge durango, and his middle seat gave me an idea, cuz I've been wanting bucket seats for my back seat, but I want to be able to fold them down completely or up out of the way for like my snowboard or camping or hunting. and for those who don't know dodge durango middle seats (I also included a picture), the back folds down, and then the folded seat folds up forward out of the way, the middle is a fold down armrest/cup holder, but it's all got a metal tube running across the front of the seats, the 2 outer seats are mounted on hinges with a latch and the middle doesn't fold up. I figure I could easily mount the center seat on hinges with a latch so it could fold out of the way too. I also figured since me and my grandpa already made brackets to go with the front seats, we could figure out a way to mount that kind of seat to the back. I haven't checked specs, but I want to hear some input from anyone on their thoughts of my idea or if anyone has done anything similar.. Thanks!

i've seen a few people attempt rear bucket seats and those were not that easy... but my only opinion is.... whats the point???? by the time you have designed "fabbed" and mounted these seats. you'll prolly end up with less cargo space....
if you notice the way the back half of a cherokee is designed
fold away bucket seats for the back-explain.jpg
the top half of the rear bench seat folds down to an even level.... and the bottom half of the bench folds up against the back of the front bucket seats leaving only about 5-6" of actual blocked storage...

when you look at a dodge durango or any other mini van

the floors in them are completely level... there is no drop in body level and when the seat folds up it doubles the seats "thickness"

while it would be pretty awesome to see done i dont think its very ethical or that you would be that satisfied with the storage results

Do they slide forward and backwards like the front seats do?
