plans changed. passenger side upper < makin it ez on my fab guy > with 2 1.25 hiems and 1.75x.120 dom. so far less than $250 into my entire front suspension. lowers done, pass upper mount cut off, and axle tube welded up to the pumpkin. hiems are spaced down to 3/4. had to bolt up a stock upper so we could move it out of the shop and im very happy with the lowers.

More connections to the body from the axle = more strength. Also when cycled through it's range castor and pinion angles go all funny with y links. But y links are fairly easy to build and work for most people just fine.

That steering is very scary.... at ride height it looks like it has reached maximum travel

im not a fan of the steering. its a crustys setup and it was ok originally but one whack and i got that nice bend you see there. its still all TREs so i plan on the goferit flip or replace all joints with hiems and flip it.

3 links give a bind free setup and so long as you do the work correctly and dont skimp on materials a 3 link is just fine. if you do break one bolt, joint, arm or any suspension component you are screwed

still need to adjust arms and track bar but walks all over everything compared to the short arms fighting every speed bump at the mall

i wanted to update this thread just to say how well the 3 link system works. ITS AWESOME!!!! ive been at various levels of lift in the past and short arms and then drop brackets. this blows every previous setup outa the water. im not locked up front but the suspension climbs so well that im not in a hurry to lock it. if i could spend some more money on coilovers/airshocks, i would be able to do high speed desert runs. right now im hittin the trails at decent speed but it gets crazy as i give it more skinny. probably a good thing i dont have more cash for it right now, i think id roll in the desert before the rocks.

before limit straps

locked out back, sand to rock = EZ!

/\ /\ /\ ---that's an awesome pic right there.

My question is to those running the LA 3 link on the street as well. Do you guys ever have an issue with pulling in the alingment not having the upper arm on the one side? I'm concened with cross caster being an issue. Thanks.

Is that last picture taken level or was the camera tilted to exagerate the angle?

i wonder about this sometimes too. i will say with a passenger side upper, the drivers side coil plate does seem to have maybe 1* of difference from the passenger side coil plate. could also be my rock-magnet d30 is not in as perfect condition as it once was lol

no exaggeration, its exactly how it looks if you were standing there
