First custom sub box
Well I had a go at making a custom sub box its made out of 1\2" mdf completely sealed and all seams siliconed. Idk how much cubic feet it is but it definitely is enough to handle a 10" sub (at least mine) It goes back into the cubby hole and then sticks out a few inches, it takes up wayy less space as my old box as u can see by the pic. I didnt rlly crank the music cause the silicone is a little wet still but tomorrw ill rlly test it out. I did kinda a crappy job covering it, but I think later ill try to build a new one and make it cleaner

Wow that's cheap. How did you cut it out and make it? I've seen people use fiberglass to mold the shape of the cubby but I guess you didn't?

1/2 is a bit thin.. I've always used 3/4... Then again the last box I built required a 1"front baffle for the sub. (JL w7) Plus I've never installed the subs untill whatever sealant I've used is cured. Some sealants can put off fumes that are harmful to the surrounds on subs and speakers especially if they're compressed foam. Not such a big deal for butyl rubber. Looks good though, and if it sounds good that's all that matters.
