RichXj89 has the best chop i have ever seen on an XJ. 90 percent of them look like crap but he took the time to finish the job. You can tell he does quality work just by the way he finished it with the tailgate and the tail lights, the "bedrails" are finished, and the whole thing looks like its supposed to be like that. I think its funny how people ask for opinions then when someone who has done the same thing but nicer gives them an honest opinion they get their undies in a twist. I personaly do not like the way the chop looks on your XJ XXXJeepin (or the other 9 out of 10 of them people do). I think it looks way better in the picture you have for your avatar.

Now on the other hand i do have to give anybody props that has the guts to go and just cut their Jeep up...

i agree. I just like a more finished look and almost every chop you see is a failure in that department.(even if it is a trail rig)

mines got alittle bit but its hard to figure something up for the roof behind the front seats... and KEEP the back seat... i made handles into the C pillars to get in the back seat easier... this will be nice when its jacked up... maybe a reciever step... ill figure something out for that roof line... need to make it stiff... flops up and down and is loud as crap... lol

i dont have my undies in wad, but my bed rails are factory seams and i have factory panels in the ''bed" so the finish is as good as it gets. i agree rich89 is a damn good lookin xj. my is titled the ugly jeep. it was totaled thats why the front is like it is. i have plans to wrap the the front with tubing and will have a tailgate at some point. i am a full time student, work full time and am in the national guard. so time is very short and money is shorter. either way i bought the jeep to beat up on trails and not worry abt cosmetics. so to "jeepshisown" i enjoy the stir i got from everyone.

i welded some sheet metal behind it. then i cut it out so it had the same size opening as the yj roll bar. then i used the hoop off the roll bar and added new rear bars.

in the winter i use a yj windjammer to block off the cab

theres some possible ideas for you guys

These pics show why i like this chop better than yours XXX. If you were to finish yours off similar to this it would look way better. I understand the whole time, money issue. I too have a totaled cherokee for a trail rig but even though it is a trail rig i still take pride in making it look as good as it can. Trail damage is ok but i dont want to make it look crappy while its sittin in the driveway...
