I decided to start hacking at the fenders. Didn't really see anyone do the cut and fold trick so decided to go for it and it turned out pretty nice.

I would say def go for it if your thinking about doin it. I had very little experience with the angle grinder previous to this. I started it with the intentions of my dad helping me cause I'm 18 but after the first few small cuts I made I just went to town. Jus take your time and after you cut the tabs jus take pliers and bend it evenly. Anything else you need to know jus asked. Jus make sure not to cut the pinch welds

I don't have any pics of it during the process cause the phone I took them on got wet. I cut true tabs further apart where it was straight than once it started to curve cut them closer together. There are a few good threads to follow on here. One was a red jeep I'm not sure who it was but i followed his write up. He did a nice job on it.

if you are going to do the cut and fold method you can cut the slits above the spot welds. just as long as you dont cut through them or it will separate.
