torches, its solid so it wont kink, what i am doin is forming the flat piece first tack welding it on, then bending the round around that

you could make a bending template out of some 2x6's nailed to some 3/4" plywood for the correct curve or use bolts welded to a plate of steel in the curve pattern you want clamped into a vise and have you a make shift bender for your tubing. most of your curves will be the same so 1 pattern would suffice

i was gonna weld bolts to a plate, but you get spring back so you need to acctually bend it farth then the angle you need so its easier to just do it on the rig......guess and check lol guess and check

weld them to the plate in a tighter radius to compensate for springback.. trial and error

I'm doing the same flare mod. First I've seen anyone else do it. I wanted a little less weight. Went with 16 gauge sheet metal and 1" OD tubing. It's still gonna be sturdy enough for flares because of the bends and welds. The 1" tubing is actually going clear back under the body and doubling as the mounts. My flares were made for cardboard first to use as a templet for deciding what lines to us. Fun building your own stuff instead of buying it, isn't it!

are you only wleding the flar to the rear quarter panels?

welding underneath at all or just top side?

love to see some strength tests once your done. like holding your weight standing on it.?

I've seen quarters done before that really look like they were out of place or just chunked onto the body, but I gotta say, I really like how you did the quarters. They blend well and look very clean. Nice job on these.
