Default Extending stock XJ LCA's for lift

Im doing a cheap lift. I have a custom s10 pack in the rear with shackles and the front im doing f150 coils with spacers. This is a woods truck only basically. I was wondering if anyone has ever extended their LCAs.

The stock ones are u channel design and are very weak. I was going to cut them in half, install square stock inside the u channel and weld it on the inside. then box the top in. Was also thinking of doing some plug welds from the outside to the square stock.

Any idea why this WOULDNT work as far as binding in the mounts etc?

Here is a chart to help you figure what length your arms need to be at certain heights. Control arms lengths are important for castor and location of axle in the wheel wells. At 3", you will be ok with stock arms, just expect the axle to move back toward the cab a little and some minor bumpsteer.

Good luck with those F150 springs, don't expect any flex.

I would just bite the bullet and buy some lift coils and just do it once.I got mine at rustys off road for about 140 bucks shipped.
