I thought about doing that because you can't run a flip up monitor in the stock location but I didn't want to lose that vent. You aughta install a shelf pocket in that blank space.

I have the same flip out in my cherokee. But all I did was move the heater/ac controls up in the radio din like in his picture. And installed the flip out in the din right below it. That way I still have my vent at the bottom and didn't have to cut any flap or cut into my airduct. The flip out works just fine...it comes all the way out. It just hides the controls for the heat and a/c but if I want to adjust them I just retract the screen back in make my adjustments and flip the screen back out.

When I cut my flap the defrost don't work. It just blows out the dash vent lol sucks now that it's snowing. That's why I regret cutting mine lol

How did you get that to happen. I cut the whole flap out and while it still blows very very lightly out the defrost most of the air comes from vents and while
I can switch between the two since there is no flap to close the vents off all the air still comes from vents.
