Yes, you could roll your xj over pretty easily without it. I found out the hard way, but got real lucky. I would definitely fix it.

No it is not necessary. ive been driving around without front and rear sway bars for about 3 years now and no problems. the only difference is having to take corners a little slower if your used to taking them fast. if not then no worries.

IMO you do not need it. I took mine off about three months ago, and it hasn't changed the way she drives one bit. You've still got your track bar in the rear, and the jeep is uni body, so you get no "body roll" by not having it. But to each there own, and like I said this is only my opinion. I know a lot if other xj guys that also don't run a front sway bar and it suits them just fine. A lot also depends on the type of driving and off tossing that you do. Good luck!

i broke a bolt while i was replacing the bushings and kept it off...the front rolls alot especially when one side of the road is dipping and around turns. you cant drive crazy as hell but if you take it slow then it should be fine

This should be in chat, not fabrication. But to answer your question if you drive like a jackass yes you need the swaybar. I haven't bothered to connect my disco's on my daily driver in over 3 months. I drive slow, I drive a lifted jeep... If you drive like a jackass fix it asap.
This app on my phone sucks ***** and don't work right...but thanks for the info guys..I drive it like a jackazz yea but if its not all there I will tone it down a little haha my leaf springs or negative in the back anyways so my ride rides low...im puttin a 4.5 lift and 33s on it here soon and the lift comes with all that but for now its coming off before it breaks off and breaks something else

If you do take it off I would suggest you find a parking lot, dirt road, somewhere safe basically to test it out and get a feel for it. At stock height you shouldn't have much body roll and will probably not even notice it, however it's better to be safe than sorry.
Its very noticeable at stock. But the other night I had to brake hard and swerve damn hard to avoid hitting a skunk (yeah safer to hit it, but hitting a skunk with no doors really seemed horrible). I was doing 60, didn't roll it.
