Dashboard switch panel

Default Dashboard switch panel

Everyone has there ideas on switch panels but i havent seen anyone make one for the dash. So heres mine.

First i made the template

Then cut the shape out of some aluminum. I dont have a pic with the holes drilled.

Then mark your holes on the dash, drill em, and then use a dremmel with a router bit to cut a hole in the dash.

And finally drill your hole(s) for your switches and mount it up. I used some nice stainless steel allen bolts.

looks good. thats where i put my switch for my lights on my first XJ.

Srry to steal ur thread but i just installed mine yesterday right where the parking break is. Lots of room to fit a few switches there,

i just put mine in the empty space by the rear window defrost and wiper.

For pre96 XJ, Dirtbound makes a switch/gauge panel that goes in place of the ashtray. I have one, looks/fits great.

I plan on running the bluetooth mic from my stereo to that panel you cut out
